Why is Treatment so Popular?

Holistic treatment is a part of many Florida treatment centers. It works to help recover a person’s mind, body, and soul. Often a variety of services and activities are offered while in treatment to help each person to achieve physical and emotional well-being to reach sobriety [1].

Some services are meditation, organic meal plans, massages, wellness centers, acupuncture, and animal therapy [2]. Many of these programs work with participants to teach them how to protect all areas of their health.

Often holistic treatments are considered alternative treatment because they do not follow traditional treatment programs. Typically, centers that focus on the whole-body have larger facilities to promote relaxation, exercise, spas, or meditation practices.

Often those who attend more holistic programs, such as in Florida, report that they try to fill their life with drugs and alcohol, but when entering treatment, they begin to develop a personal spiritual connection [3].

Why Florida

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration )SAMHSA), it is recommended that when choosing a substance abuse program, a person should choose one that targets addiction and wellness in comprehensive ways [4].
